Obituary of Ruth Esther Carroll (Kulle)

Ruth was a pastor’s wife at Immanuel Baptist Church, St. Paul, MN; Temple Baptist Church, Rockford, IL; Trinity Baptist Church, St. Paul, MN; and Calvary Baptist Church, St. Cloud, MN. She is survived by a daughter, Janet (Les) Swanson; daughter-in-law, Arlene Carroll; sons Wendell (Linda Reiss) and David (Karen) Carroll. She was preceded in death by husband Rev. J. Leonard Carroll, son James, and brothers Carlton, Wendell, and Wesley Kulle. She was grandmother of six and great-grandmother of eleven. Ruth enjoyed meeting new people, learning new words, and playing a hard-fought game of Scrabble. Strangers were always welcome at her cherry dining room table. She liked nutritious food, a well-set table with pressed linens, and stimulating debate. She loved the Lord. A private service has been held. Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice or to Presbyterian Homes of Johanna Shores whose staff cared for Mom and Dad Carroll and Mom Swanson for twenty years.
